Drake Sprague is a geographer, researcher, and artist in the service of our Lord Jesus. For nearly 20 years, he has combined these skills to enhance the work of indigenous field missionaries throughout the Amazon jungle, the Darien Gap of Panama, rural Mexico, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Drake fulfills a unique ministry role by identifying where missionaries are most urgently needed. As a human geographer, Drake is highly experienced in mapping the locations of unique people groups—the ‘ethnos’ or ‘nations’ as referred to in Matthew 18 and in Revelation 7:9—distinguished by ethnicity, language, and culture. During his travels, he collects the information necessary to define the scope, nature, and needs of unreached people groups. He also trains missionaries to do their own research and planning. Over the years, Drake has spent months living in remote tribal villages and has traversed many jungle trails and river systems, mountain passes, and deserts for the purpose of “equipping the saints for the work of ministry” (Ephesians 4:12) through research and mission strategy.
